Embryo Angling

Matt Pettit updated the meeting since last attending. The water table had risen by 7 feet over the winter which has caused flooding to planted tree areas and swims and, due to the high water level in the river Witham, it had not been possible to alleviate the situation by external pumping. A dry April has helped somewhat since the meeting.

The restored land on the far side of Swinderby road has been purchased from Cemex and fenced against otters, Matt reported, and, when ground conditions permit, an access point for walking inside the fence will be constructed.

Breedon Quarry

Ben Ayres updated the meeting on developments in the Quarry over the last 4 years. Regarding restoration proposals, the footpath between Stapleford and Norton Disney and approx. 17 hectares closest to the village are being restored this year.

Ben proposed a site visit for those interested in June. This has to be arranged.

Lincoln Protein’s recent application LCC PL/0012/21

Richard Parker, secretary to the Norton Disney History and Archaeology Group, updated the meeting on his submissions to Lincolnshire CC regarding the above application and the Group’s proposals for a further site dig adjoining Folly lane opposite Villa Farm.

A subsequent discussion took place regarding the Parish’s submission, since when this has been circulated to Parish Councillors and sent to LCC.

Next Meeting

Amended to Wednesday 19th May – the Annual meeting @ 7pm, followed by the Parish meeting.

There being no further business, the meeting was declared closed @ 18.15 hrs.
