A meeting of the Parish Council was held on Monday 26th September 2022 in the Village Hall.

Minutes of the previous meeting
Minutes of the Parish meeting held on 18th July were signed as a true and correct record.
Matters arising
Regarding a site visit to Breedon Quarry, the Clerk reported that having received no response to a follow up email sent since the last meeting in July, he visited the quarry on September 10th and obtained the name of the new Quarry Manager to whom he has since spoken and a visit is scheduled for early November.
County & District Councillors’ Reports
Since none of the above were in attendance, reliance was made on their monthly circulated reports’
Adoption of the new NKDC Code of Conduct.
This was adopted at the meeting.
Local Plan proposed sites for residential development.
2 sites have been earmarked for possible ‘long term’ development in the village, on Church field and on land to the west of Butt lane, totalling approx. 40 dwellings, in the revised Local Plan for Central Lincolnshire. However’ these will be ‘fall back’ sites in case other sites in Parishes/Towns where residential development has been considered more likely, were ultimately rejected.
These sites have been ‘debated’ in detail, in house by North Kesteven DC clearly showing the ‘downside’ to pursuing them – such as a lack of infrastructure. So, it was decided that there was no need to submit the Parish’s views on this item.
Village Xmas Party
The Village Hall Committee will be holding a Coffee morning & Xmas fayre close to Christmas Day and, as such, it was felt that it would be difficult to hold 2 events close together. Better to have another Party around the date of the King’s Coronation in May was the feeling.

Financial Report
As at 26/09/2022 funds in the Community account stood at £2743.23 having made payments of £588.97 since the last meeting and received £33 in respect of the Jubilee party. Funds held in the Skipton Building Society as at 10/09/ 2022 were £6672.63 & the interest rate had recently been increased to 1.29%.
Councillors comments / AOB
Cllr Moles informed the meeting that the Bomber County Gateway Trust had held a breakfast for all Donors who had contributed over £10k to the project and had each been given prints of the ‘finished article’.
He also told the meeting that the recent 2 week ‘dig / excavation’ on land adjoining Folly lane by Norton Disney History and Archaeology Group had uncovered a ‘smelting pit’ as well as other interesting artifacts and that there would be further excavations next year on Brills Farm.
Next Meeting
The date of the next Parish meeting has, subsequent to the one herein mentioned, been arranged for TUESDAY 8th November 2022 @ 7pm.
There being no further business, the meeting was declared closed @ 20.30 hrs.
